Moving a number (porting) lets you keep your existing US business number. Only the workspace owner can request it.
What you need
- The number's current provider, the account number and PIN (if it has one).
- The business name, billing phone number and service address exactly as on the current account.
- A signed letter of authorization (LOA) and a recent bill, each as a PDF up to 2 MB.
How it works
- In Phone Numbers, choose Move a number and fill in the form.
- RingMind sends the request to our voice provider, who asks your current provider to release the number. Your account number and PIN are deleted from RingMind once it's sent.
- Progress shows on the same page. Moves usually take one to three weeks; you'll see the expected date when it's confirmed.
- When it completes, the number appears in Phone Numbers. Choose its assistant and call handling.
Good to know
- The number keeps working with your current provider until the move completes. Don't cancel that service first.
- Details that don't match the current account are the most common reason a request is rejected.
- Moved numbers count toward your plan's number limit.
- Mobile numbers usually can't be moved without changing your carrier plan, and numbers outside the US can't be moved yet.
