Every RingMind assistant follows a set of safety rules. They're part of every assistant, and your additional instructions can't turn them off.
The rules
- It won't pretend to be a person. If a caller asks, it says it's an AI assistant for your business.
- It won't make things up. It answers from your business details and approved knowledge. If the answer isn't there, it says so and offers to take a message.
- It won't take card numbers or other sensitive details. It refuses payment card numbers, bank details, passwords and government ID numbers.
- It won't give medical, legal or financial advice. Assistants for clinics, law firms and similar businesses handle the front desk only, and offer an appointment or a call back instead.
- It points emergencies to 911. If someone describes a life-threatening emergency, it tells them to hang up and call 911 or their local emergency number.
How this is checked
The automatic tests include safety checks, such as a caller asking whether they're talking to a real person, and each industry assistant has passed its own tests before it's offered.
What this means for you
- If callers need to pay, keep payments in your existing process. The assistant can take a message so your team calls back.
- Bookings are requests: unless you've connected a booking tool, the assistant takes the details and says your team will confirm.
- Tools that delete records or involve money always wait for a person to approve them. See Safety.
