Releasing a number

Release a number when you no longer need it, to free a place on your plan and stop its monthly charge.

How

  1. In Phone Numbers, open Release this number under the number.
  2. Tick the confirmation and choose Release.

Only the workspace owner can release, and only once the number is Active.

Before you release

  • It can't be undone. Released numbers go back to the carrier and may be given to someone else. RingMind can't recover them.
  • Update anywhere the number is published: your website, Google Business Profile, signage and email signatures.
  • Move callers first. If you're switching numbers, buy and connect the new one before releasing the old one.

What you keep

Calls, transcripts, messages and tasks from the number stay in your workspace. Only the number itself goes.

Just want it to stop answering?

Disconnect it instead: choose Not connected under the number. It stays yours, but it still counts toward your plan. See Connecting a number to an assistant.
