What shoppers ask
Online stores and shops get the same questions every day: Do you ship to my area? How long does delivery take? What's your returns policy? Is this in stock in my size? Where's my order? Some need a person, especially anything involving refunds, damaged items or payment problems.
How a RingMind assistant handles them
The E-commerce Customer Support assistant answers product, shipping and returns questions from your policies and approved knowledge. With Shopify connected (Beta) it can look up an order and its fulfillment status once the customer's email or phone matches the order; without a connected store it takes the order number, name and email for your team, and it never invents an order status or delivery date. Return requests are captured for your team, and anything involving money is handed to a person.
The assistant works across calls, texts, WhatsApp and website chat, so shoppers can use the channel they prefer. Your team picks up in the shared inbox, can take over a conversation, and can turn requests into tasks. Help desk integrations such as Zendesk (Beta) can open tickets when you enable them, and the Shopify integration (Beta) includes order lookup only after a customer is verified.

Limits to know
The assistant never issues refunds or charges. Payment actions through an integration always wait for an owner or admin in Approvals. It never asks for card numbers, and it can't send pictures; customers' own images do appear in the conversation.
Questions about AI assistants for retail & e-commerce
Can the assistant tell customers where their order is?
Yes, if your Shopify store is connected (Beta): it checks the order after the customer's email or phone matches. Without a connected store it takes the order number, name and email for your team.
Can it process refunds?
No. It captures return and refund requests for your team. Any payment action through an integration waits for an owner or admin to approve it.
Which channels does it cover?
Phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp and website chat, all in one shared inbox per customer.
Can it answer product questions?
Yes, from the product details, FAQs and pages you add and approve. If something isn't covered, it says so and takes a message.
Can it open help desk tickets?
Yes, through help desk integrations such as Zendesk (Beta) when you connect them and enable the tools.
Will it ask for card details?
Never. Assistants refuse card numbers and don't need the last four digits either.
