Each assistant uses only the tools you enable on it. This lets you give a booking assistant your calendar without giving it your CRM.
Enabling a tool
- Open the assistant and go to 2. Tools.
- Find the tool. Each one shows where it comes from and what it does.
- Choose Enable. For tools that change records, send messages, delete records or move money, first tick that you allow the assistant to use it on your behalf.
- Publish the assistant. Tool changes only apply when you publish.
Enabled tools show On. Only owners and admins can enable tools.
Built-in tools
These come with every assistant, with nothing to connect:
- Take a message — records the caller's name, number and what they need. See Messages.
- Transfer calls — puts callers through to people on the transfer list. See Transfers.
- End the call — politely ends the call once the caller is done.
Requiring approval
For integration and webhook tools, you can tick Require a person to approve each call. The tool then shows Needs approval, and each use waits in Approvals. Tools that delete records or move money always need approval. See Safety.
Checking what ran
Recent tool calls on the assistant's page lists when each tool ran (in UTC), which tool, the result and how long it took.
Tips
- Enable only what the assistant needs.
- Test with Try it after publishing, and check the first few results in the app itself.
