AI Receptionist for Any Small Business

A general receptionist that works for any business — answering from your details and approved FAQs, taking messages and transferring calls — plus specialist assistants on the roadmap.

For any kind of business

Most businesses get the same core calls: questions about hours, services and prices, people who want to book or get a quote, and callers who need a particular person or department. If your industry doesn't have its own assistant yet, a general receptionist covers these well.

How a RingMind assistant handles them

The General Business Receptionist answers from your business details and the FAQs, web pages and documents you approve. It takes messages with the caller's name, number, reason and urgency, captures enquiries for the right person or department, and transfers callers to up to five people on its transfer list. Connect a calendar (Beta) and it can book appointments; otherwise it takes booking requests. Add your own instructions for anything specific to how you work.

The same assistant can answer texts, WhatsApp messages and website chat. Calls come with transcripts, everything lands in the shared inbox, and the AI Supervisor points out questions it couldn't answer so you can add them to its knowledge.

Limits to know

Templates and their tests are written in English, and an assistant uses one language setting rather than switching per caller. Numbers are available in the US and Canada. Moving an existing US number usually takes one to three weeks, and the assistant doesn't place outbound calls.

Questions about AI assistants for general business

Is the general receptionist good enough for my business?

It covers the core calls for most businesses: questions, messages, booking requests and transfers. Your details, knowledge and instructions do most of the work.

Can it route callers to different departments?

It can take messages for a named department or transfer callers to up to five people. A dedicated department call router is planned.

Can it answer only after hours?

Yes. Set business hours on the number, ring your team while you're open and let the assistant answer outside those hours. Hours follow your workspace time zone.

Does it speak other languages?

Each assistant has a language setting: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil), German or Italian. Templates and tests are written in English. An assistant that switches language per caller, the multilingual receptionist, is planned.

Can I build an assistant from scratch?

A blank custom assistant is planned. Today, start from the general receptionist and shape it with your own instructions and knowledge.

How do I know what it couldn't answer?

The AI Supervisor lists questions the assistant couldn't answer, and you can turn each one into an approved FAQ in one step.

Built assistants have a full template and test suite and are offered once every test passes. Planned ones are on the roadmap — each page shows the built assistant to use today.
