An AI receptionist for roofing companies

Roofing leads often call once and move on. RingMind can answer, collect the property details and request an inspection for your team to confirm. The dedicated roofing assistant isn't built yet.

What roofing callers want

After a storm, the phone fills with homeowners who have a leak, missing shingles or a tree on the roof. On quieter days it's replacement quotes, gutter work, insurance-claim inspections and questions about materials. Your estimators are on roofs or driving between jobs, and an unanswered lead often calls the next company on the list.

Where the roofing assistant stands

A dedicated roofing assistant is in RingMind's catalog but hasn't been built and tested yet. This page shows its live status. Until it's ready, the general business receptionist handles these calls with your business details.

What the general receptionist does for a roofer

  • Collects the lead: name, best number, property address, what's wrong or what they want done, and how soon. It reads the details back.
  • Requests inspections and estimates. With Google Calendar or Calendly connected, it can offer open inspection times. Without a calendar, it takes a request and says the team will confirm.
  • Answers from your details: service area, services, materials and any policies you list, such as whether inspections are free.
  • Flags urgent calls. You can add an instruction like "an active leak is urgent". Urgent messages are emailed to your team. Test any instruction you add in the playground, since it isn't part of a tested brain.
  • Records leads in HubSpot if you connect it (Beta).

What it won't do

  • It won't estimate the cost of a roof or say what an insurer will cover.
  • It won't promise when a crew can come out.
  • It never takes card numbers, and it says it's an AI if asked.
  • It tells anyone in a life-threatening situation to call 911.

Storm days

When many people call at once, the assistant can answer several calls at the same time. Each lead arrives in Calls & Messages with a transcript, and you can turn each one into a task for whoever schedules inspections. Nothing goes out to the caller automatically afterwards: RingMind doesn't send follow-up texts after a call yet. Your team can text a contact by hand from the inbox if SMS is turned on; see missed calls.

Setting it up

  1. Choose the general business receptionist on the AI assistants page.
  2. Enter your hours, service area and services.
  3. Add FAQs to the Knowledge Base: materials, warranties you offer, how insurance inspections work at your company.
  4. Publish, run the tests and try it in the playground.
  5. Get a RingMind number and connect it.

Limits to know

US and Canada numbers only, no porting yet, no outbound calls, and no time-of-day rules. US texting needs 10DLC registration. See home services for other trades and the pricing page for plans.

Questions

Is there a roofing-specific assistant?

It's in the catalog but not built yet. This page shows its live status. Today you can use the general business receptionist with your own services and instructions.

Will it quote a price for a new roof?

No. It only quotes prices you list in your business details. Otherwise it takes the request and your team follows up.

Can it book inspections?

Yes, with a connected calendar such as Google Calendar, Calendly or Microsoft Outlook. Without one, it takes an inspection request your team confirms.

Does it text leads after they call?

No. Automatic follow-up texts aren't available. Your team can send a text by hand from the contact's timeline once SMS is turned on.
