What it's planned to handle
Guided troubleshooting.
- Identifies the product, model and symptoms before suggesting anything
- Walks the customer through approved troubleshooting steps one at a time and checks the result of each
- Stops and escalates when the steps don't help or a safety concern comes up
- Records what was tried so the technician doesn't repeat it
What you'd fill in
- Approved troubleshooting guides for each product
- Safety warnings and when a customer must stop
- Warranty and repair options
- Where to send unresolved cases
Questions it's meant for
Rules it would follow
- Only suggest steps from approved guides; never improvise electrical, gas or safety-related fixes.
- Tell the customer to stop and unplug the device if they mention sparks, smoke or burning smells.
How assistants are released
Each RingMind assistant ships with its own instructions, safety rules and a test suite, and is offered only once every test passes. Join early access to hear when this one is ready.
Tools it would work with
The same fixes, over and over
Device makers, installers and support teams solve the same problems many times a day: restart in the right order, check a setting, reset a pairing. A technician's time is better spent on the cases those steps don't fix, and on knowing what was already tried.
How the planned Troubleshooting Assistant is meant to work
The planned assistant would identify the product, model and symptoms first, walk the customer through approved steps one at a time and check the result of each, stop and escalate when the steps don't help or a safety concern comes up, and record what was tried. It would only use approved guides, never improvise electrical, gas or safety-related fixes, and tell the customer to unplug the device if they mention sparks, smoke or burning smells. This assistant is planned and not available yet.
Use RingMind for this today
The General Business Receptionist can walk customers through your guides now:
- Knowledge base: add your troubleshooting guides for each product as .txt or .md documents or FAQs, written as numbered steps (knowledge base help).
- Additional instructions: tell it to confirm the product and model first, give one step at a time, ask for the result before continuing, and stop at any safety warning.
- Connected tools: connect Zendesk so unresolved cases become tickets, or Confluence or SharePoint to search approved guides.
- Transfer list: add up to five technicians or a support line.
- Messaging: turn on WhatsApp so customers can send a photo of an error screen (SMS and WhatsApp).
It sticks to what your guides say, so keep them clear and current. See WhatsApp AI assistant.
Troubleshooting AI Assistant: questions
Is it available now?
No. The Troubleshooting Assistant is planned and not available yet. You can use the General Business Receptionist today, and you can join early access to hear when the Troubleshooting Assistant is ready.
Will it invent fixes?
It answers from your approved knowledge. Instruct it to say when a problem isn't covered and escalate rather than guess.
What if a customer reports smoke or sparks?
Add a safety rule to its instructions to tell them to stop and unplug the device, then transfer or take an urgent message.
Can it explain error codes?
Yes, if you add an error code list to the knowledge base.
Does it record what the customer already tried?
Calls have transcripts, and with Zendesk connected it can open a ticket describing the problem. Each call the assistant handles also gets a short AI-written summary; check the transcript for exact details.
Can customers send a photo of the problem?
Yes, by MMS or WhatsApp. Pictures appear in your inbox for your team.
