Web pages

If the answers are already on your website, import the page instead of retyping it.

Importing a page

  1. Open Knowledge Base.
  2. Under Import a web page, paste the Page address, for example https://example.com/services.
  3. Choose Import page.

Import one page at a time: your Services, FAQ, About or Pricing page are good places to start. RingMind doesn't follow links to the rest of your site.

What gets kept

RingMind reads the page and splits it into sections at its headings. Navigation, scripts and forms are dropped. Very long sections are split into smaller pieces.

Imported sections aren't used straight away. They appear under Needs review so you can check them first. See Reviewing and approving.

If the import fails

  • The website didn't respond in time or returned an error — check the address opens in a private browser window, then try again.
  • Only web pages (HTML) and plain text can be imported — PDFs and images linked from your site can't be imported this way.
  • That page is too large to import — pages can be up to 2 MB. Try a more specific page.
  • No usable text was found — the page may load its text with scripts. Copy the text into a document or FAQs instead.

The page must be public: RingMind can't sign in to see pages behind a login.

When your website changes

Imports don't update on their own. Delete the old source and import the page again, then review and publish.
